Counselling

Some of the areas and people I work in and with: # adults # children # young people # school pupils # college and university students # educational staff # people with learning difficulties # residential units # survivors of rape and sexual abuse # drug and alcohol misuse # young offenders # Housing Associations # challenging behaviours # depression # anxiety # trauma

An approach based on a humanistic, person centred way of working.

I believe everyone has the potential for change and personal growth and can gain a better understanding of themselves.
Using a non directive client led approach I can help people to explore experiences which have shaped and influenced current behaviours; to find ways in which these might be challenged or changed. For most people there are times in life when we feel the need for help and support. This is not a sign of failure, but a recognition that we are ready to accept help.
Counselling can provide a safe confidential space in which to talk and to be really listened to, without judgement. It is a space to find acceptance and to find ways to move forward: it is a space for you.

As a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy I am governed by its ethical code of practice and I am covered by my own professional public liability insurance.

My work is largely within Bristol and the local area, but I also do some work further afield.

In Bristol I use a room in an established counselling organisation in Kingswood where I also work as a counsellor in a voluntary capacity.
